Recreational
Recreational soccer stresses the participation, enjoyment, sportsmanship, skill development, safety, and teamwork aspects of the game. The goal is for the players to learn and fall in love with the sport of soccer.
Our recreational teams are formed by Rush staff and coached by parent volunteers using a “neighborhood” concept following the boundaries of the local school districts’ elementary schools as closely as possible. All recreational teams will be coached by a parent volunteer. This parent must have a child on the team. Rush staff will support this volunteer parent with coaching education tools and pre-made training sessions to ensure a great environment for the players.
Branches
The Recreational Branch is divided into two divisions: the New Beginnings and the Intermediate Academy. The number of teams per age group will vary depending on the number of players who register. To see what age group you fall under, see our age group chart.

New BeginningsList Item 1
The New Beginnings program is catered to children ages 3-4 years old and is a unique opportunity to introduce your child to soccer. It is a eight-week program which runs a practice once a week. New Beginnings will give your child a great start to this lifetime sport by engaging motor skills, ball skills, and concepts of small sided games. Sessions are led by Rush Coaching Staff and volunteers, lasting for 50 minutes. The emphasis is very firmly on FUN! We feel that kids will be more comfortable and develop faster in this type of environment.

Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to the operation of our recreational teams. Each team needs a parent volunteer to be team manager and coach.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach or team manager please complete the volunteer form and our Recreational Program Director will contact you!
four Seasons
Each season will be an exciting play-based journey based on skills, coordination, and passion for the game. Players will be active and engaged while gaining confidence and excitement about the game. Seasons run for eight weeks and include one training and one game per week. The spring and summer seasons we play outdoors, the fall season we play futsal indoors, and the winter we play indoor soccer.
