Flatirons Soccer Club: Commitment to Safety and Accountability
Starting July 1, 2025, Flatirons Soccer Club will require every coach to complete annual mandatory reporter training, following the guidelines and recommendations of the Mandatory Reporter Training Task Force. In addition, we strongly encourage all coaches to participate in an abuse prevention training program. This training will help coaches identify and prevent prohibited conduct, understand appropriate one-on-one interactions with players, and learn how to recognize, respond to, and prevent any actions that violate club policies.
All coaches must also comply with our code of conduct and successfully complete a comprehensive background check—including screening for felony child abuse and sexual offenses—prior to working with any teams or players. Individuals may be disqualified from coaching based on the results of this background check to ensure the safety of our club community.
Flatirons Soccer Club is also implementing a clear policy outlining prohibited behaviors for parents, spectators, coaches, and athletes. This includes a mandatory reporting policy for anyone who becomes aware of violations. These steps are designed to enhance safety and accountability in youth sports by establishing clear expectations and ensuring everyone involved with Flatirons Soccer Club is properly vetted and trained.
At Flatirons Soccer Club, we are dedicated to providing a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all our players, families, and staff.
